Overall goal


Das Unterstützungsprogramm für indigene Völker mit den hier vorgelegten Teilprojekten hat das Oberziel, einen Beitrag zu einer größeren Autonomie der indigenen Völker zu leisten, ihre Rechte zu sichern und ihre Lebensqualität zu verbessern.

Die Indianer Brasiliens werden derzeit auf etwa 500.000 Personen geschätzt, vor wenigen Jahren lagen die Zahlen noch weit darunter. Der Anstieg ist mehreren Faktoren zu verdanken: z.T. hat die Personenzahl der einzelnen Völker tatsächlich zugenommen, anderseits wagen es heute viele Indianer erstmals wieder, sich ihrer Identität zu bekennen. Auf diese Weise sind mehrere Völker "wiedererstanden", die als nicht existent oder ausgestorben galten.

Vom Projekt begünstigt sind die indigenen Völker, mit denen die vom Projekt betroffenen Regionalstellen CIMIs arbeiten. Weiters sind direkt einige weitere Völker bzw. indirekt ein Großteil aller 500.000 IndianerInnen Brasiliens begünstigt, die durch die Rechtshilfe Verbesserungen erfahren bzw. über die mit der Zeitschrift Porantim informiert wird.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
