Overall goal


Das Afro-Asiatische Institut (AAI) in Wien ist seit über 40 Jahren ein interkultureller und inter-religiöser Treffpunkt. Es beherbergt eine Galerie, ein internationales StudentInnenheim, ein Cafe, eine Mensa, eine christlichen Kapelle, einen Hindutempel und eine Moschee. Als Veranstaltungszentrum zählt die Bildungs- und Kulturarbeit zu den Kernaufgaben des Instituts.


Im vorliegenden Projekt "Frauen als treibende Kraft" ist das zentrale Anliegen die Auseinandersetzung mit Lebenswelten von Frauen sowie Frauen-Literatur in und aus Süd-Ländern. Die geplanten Maßnahmen umfassen eine übers ganze Jahr laufende Diskussionsreihe (Vorträge, Filmabende, Workshops, Buchpräsentationen, Ausstellungen, Kulturabende), sowie eine Frauenliteratur Woche im November 2009 (Bücher, Filme, Erzählcafe, Schreibwerkstatt) mit Beträge aus ua Nigeria, Indien, Palästina.

"Frauen als treibende Kraft" will Frauen aus den Ländern des Südens Raum geben bzw. sie unterstützen, sich und ihr Schaffen zu präsentieren.


Neben an Entwicklungspolitik interessierter Öffentlichkeit und MultiplikatorInnen in Bildungsarbeit (PädagogInnen in schulischer und außerschulischer Jugendarbeit) will das Projekt Frauen in Österreich, die sich für Gendergerechtigkeit engagieren, als neue Dialoggruppe gewinnen und deren Erfahrungen zum Thema Gendergerechtigkeit mit denen von Frauen aus den Ländern des Südens gegenüberstellen.

Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 33.246,39 in der Höhe von EUR 10.000,00 (30,08 %) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
