Overall goal


Die Frauensolidarität betreibt feministisch-entwicklungspolitische Informations-, Bildungs- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit in Österreich und steht im Dialog mit Frauenbewegungen des Südens.


Die Bibliothek und Dokumentationsstelle Frauen und "Dritte Welt" versteht sich als zentrale Informationsvermittlungsstelle zu Gender und Entwicklung. An ca. 200 Öffnungstagen jährlich werden rund 1.100 BibliotheksbesucherInnen betreut, ca. 300 telefonische und schriftliche Anfragen bearbeitet und ca. 2.500 Medien verliehen. Die Koordination mit anderen entwicklungspolitischen Bibliotheks- und Dokumentationsstellen (ÖFSE, Lateinamerika-Institut und Baobab) ermöglicht die Online-Recherche der Bestände über ein gemeinsames Portal. Seit 2006 sind die Neuzugänge auch im Österreichischen Bibliothekenverbund recherchierbar. 2009 liegt ein Schwerpunkt auf der Neuorganisation der Bibliothek: Im Zuge der Übersiedlung in das neue entwicklungspolitische Bibliothekszentrum Sensengasse werden die Bestände neu präsentiert und die Dienstleistungen erweitert.

Die Frauensolidarität organisiert entwicklungspolitisch relevante Veranstaltungen (Vorträge, Lesungen etc.) und erreicht dadurch auch neue Zielgruppen.


Die Zeitschrift "Frauensolidarität" erscheint vierteljährlich in einer Auflage von 4.500 bis 5.000 Stück und wird v.a. im deutschsprachigen Raum (90%) vertrieben. Themenschwerpunkte 2009 sind Nahrungssicherheit und Klimawandel, Lesbenbewegungen, MDGs/ Geschlechtergerechtigkeit sowie Musik.


Weiters gestaltet die Frauensolidarität in Kooperation mit ORANGE 94.0 die wöchentlichen Radiosendungen "Globale Dialoge - Women on Air". Sie bringt ihre Expertise in das Radioprojekt ein (2009 zum Schwerpunkt "Broadcasting Human Rights") und betreut Schulungs- und Weiterbildungsworkshops für Radiomacherinnen.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 589.300,00 in der Höhe von EUR 390.000,00 (66,18%) für 3 Jahre gefördert.
