Overall goal


Das Projekt fördert durch die Stärkung lokaler Organisationen der Zivilgesellschaft in Hinblick auf die Umsetzung nachhaltiger Friedens- und Sicherheitspolitiken deren aktive Beteiligung am Friedensaufbau und der Prävention von Konflikten in der westafrikanischen Grenzregion zwischen Senegal, Gambia und Guinea Bissau. In dieser Region schaffen insb. Konflikte und Spannungen zwischen den Gemeinden über den Zugang und die Kontrolle natürlicher Ressourcen sowie grenzüberschreitende Kriminalität und der Handel mit von Klein- und Leichtwaffen Probleme.


Durch die folgenden erwarteten Ergebnisse des Projekts soll die Einbindung der Basisorganisationen in Entscheidungsprozesse zur Konfliktlösung und Friedensicherung erreicht werden:

-) Gestärkte Kapazitäten der zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisationen, entsprechendes Plädoyer zur Friedensicherung zu führen;

-) Analyse von Best practices und Erfahrungen im Bereich Friede und Sicherheit und ein breiter Informationsaustausch darüber;

-) Erfolgreiche Durchführung von grenzüberschreitenden Pilotprojekten zur Friedensicherung und die damit verbundene Stärkung der zivilgesellschaftlichen Kapazitäten im Projektmanagement;

-) Eine Plattform zum thematischen Austausch zwischen zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisationen einerseits und mit lokalen Behörden andererseits.


Um die Nachhaltigkeit des Projekts zu sichern ist neben der Arbeit mit der Zivilgesellschaft die Einbindung der lokalen Behörden und Medien vorgesehen. Zielgruppe des Projektes sind 16 lokale Organisationen im Projektgebiet, die bereits im Bereich der Friedensicherung arbeiten, 20 lokale Radiosender und 9 Gemeinden.


Neben entsprechend spezialisierten Trainings für Akteure der Zivilgesellschaft und Verwaltungsbeamten auf dezentraler Ebene sind auch Aktivitäten zum Informationsaustausch und zur Verbesserung der Kommunikation auf verschiedenen Ebenen (lokal, national, sub-regional) und die Durchführung konkreter Pilotprojekte zur Konfliktprävention geplant.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
