Overall goal


Die 90 österreichischen Weltläden (gemeinsam bilden sie die ARGE Weltläden) sind mit ihren Informations- und Veranstaltungsangeboten gut in die jeweiligen regionalen und lokalen Strukturen eingebunden, die Tätigkeit der haupt- und ehrenamtlichen MitarbeiterInnen geht weit über den Verkauf hinaus. Die Weltläden werden von SchülerInnen, StudentInnen, Lehrpersonen und anderen Interessierten als Informations- bzw. Beratungsstellen und als Kommunikationsorte zum Thema Fairer Handel genützt. Die ARGE Weltläden begleitet mit diesem Projekt einen Qualitätsentwicklungsprozess, der v.a. die Arbeit der ca. 1800 Freiwilligen unterstützt, und damit die Informationsarbeit in den Weltläden verbessert.

Um die Qualität der Arbeit sicherzustellen sollen u.a. eigens Verantwortliche befähigt bzw. bestärkt werden, die Ehrenamtlichen zu begleiten. Die ARGE möchte dabei auch Kooperationen mit der Interessensgemeinschaft der Freiwilligenzentren Österreichs (IGFÖ) eingehen. Zielgruppe sind nicht nur die Freiwilligen der Weltladenbewegung und der Fair Trade Points sondern auch interessierte Personen, die sich über Freiwilligenbörsen in den Bundesländern melden. Die Strategieplanung startet auf lokaler und regionaler Weltladenebene in vorbereiteten Treffen, die Ergebnisse werden auf nationaler Ebene zusammengeführt. In der Strategieerarbeitung soll mit ExpertInnen das Thema "Weltladen als Wirtschaftsbetrieb und Non Profit Organisation" bearbeitet werden. Folgernd daraus werden spezielle Angebote für den Bereich Freiwilligenarbeit entwickelt. Konkrete Schritte werden Fortbildungsangebote, Bausteine im Weltladenhandbuch, die Präsentation der Freiwilligen auf den Websites von Freiwilligenbörsen sein.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 41.410,00 in der Höhe von EUR 34.500,00 ( 83,31 %) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
