Der "Verein zur Förderung und Unterstützung von Freien lokalen nichtkommerziellen Radioprojekten" gründete sich 1993 und widmete sich zunächst dem Lobbying für ein freies Radio in Österreich. 1998 brachte der Verein Radio Orange, das erste freie Radio in Wien, auf Sendung. Radio Orange versteht sich als umfassendes Medienprojekt, das nichtkommerzielle Radio finanziert sich u. a. aus EU-Projekten, einer Basisförderung der Stadt Wien sowie kleineren Einzelprojekten. Radio Orange hat seit mehreren Jahren auch einen entwicklungspolitischen Schwerpunkt in seinem Programm, mit www.noso.at steht ein Sendearchiv mit entwicklungspolitischen Radiosendungen für alle freien Radios in Österreich zur Verfügung. 2006 führt der Projektträger zwei Workshopreihen durch, um MitarbeiterInnen von entwicklungspolitischen NRO zur Produktion von Radiosendungen zu qualifizieren und mit ihnen 20 einstündige Sendungen zu erstellen. Einen Schwerpunkt bilden dabei die Themenbereiche "Frauen und Entwicklungspolitik" sowie Lateinamerika. Die Produktionen werden auf www.noso.at online archiviert und sind damit jederzeit abrufbereit. Ergänzend werden sie als CD über interessierte Fachzeitschriften vertrieben und so für weitere Zielgruppen leichter zugänglich gemacht.

Wichtige KooperationspartnerInnen sind der Verein Frauensolidarität und andere entwicklungspolitische NGOs, der Stadtschulrat Wien und LehrerInnen, MigrantInnen und MigrantInnen-Organisationen.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 22.602,00 in der Höhe von

EUR 8.500,00 (37,61 %) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
