Overall goal


WIDE ist ein entwicklungspolitisches Frauennetzwerk mit 18 Mitgliedsorganisationen, das Gendergerechtigkeit in der Entwicklungspolitik und im globalen Kontext fördert.


Das Programm soll einen Beitrag zur Umsetzung der Gleichstellung der Geschlechter auf allen Ebenen der österreichischen entwicklungspolitischen Arbeit und im Rahmen internationaler, EU- und österreichischer Abkommen leisten.


Die Aktivitäten umfassen Arbeitsgruppen zu „Frauen und Wirtschaft“, „Gender und Biodiversität“, „Frauenrechte/ Bejing Follow up“ und „Gendertrainings“, die kontinuierlich an spezifischen Themen arbeiten, Positionspapiere erstellen und österreichweite Fachveranstaltungen und Gendertrainings für NRO durchführen. Ein besonderer thematischer Fokus 2012-2014 liegt auf der Auseinandersetzung mit der Situation von Frauen auf dem Land in Entwicklungsländern sowie auf den Themen Migration und Entwicklung und reproduktive Rechte.


WIDE beteiligt sich 2012 am ADA-Förderschwerpunkt Rio+20 durch die Erarbeitung einer WIDE-Position aus Gendersicht, Lobbying und begleitende Medienarbeit zur Konferenz Rio+20.


Primäre Zielgruppen sind Institutionen und MultiplikatorInnen im Bereich Entwicklungspolitik, MitarbeiterInnen von Ministerien und anderen Stellen der öffentlichen Verwaltung, Lehrende, Studierende, JournalistInnen.


KooperationspartnerInnen sind WIDE-Mitgliedsorganisationen, andere zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen in Österreich, der EU (europäisches WIDE-Netzwerk) und dem globalen Süden sowie relevante staatliche Stellen.


Das Programm wird bei einem Gesamtprogrammvolumen von Euro 212.600,- in der Höhe von Euro 180.000,- (84,67%) für 3 Jahre gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
