Overall goal


Seit Beginn der Mali-Krise sind mehr als 47.000 Flüchtlinge, entsprechend UN Statistik (OCHA), in Burkina Faso angekommen. OCADES-CARITAS Burkina Faso (Diözese Dori), der lokale Partner von Caritas Österreich (in Folge nur OCADES genannt), war die erste NGO, die vor Ort war und erste Nothilfe-Maßnahmen bereitstellt – für die Flüchtlinge aus Mali, sowie für die lokale Bevölkerung, deren (entkräftet von vorhergehenden Nahrungsmittelkrisen) Widerstandsfähigkeit und Ressourcen bereits stark geschwächt sind. Das Projekt Humanitäre Hilfe für malische Flüchtlinge und deren Aufnahmegesellschaft in Burkina Faso wird insgesamt 14.325 Menschen (Flüchtlinge, lokale Aufnahmebevölkerung; 11.525 direkt und 2.800 indirekt Begünstigte) humanitäre Hilfe angeboten. Über die Bereitstellung von Kleidung, einkommensschaffenden Aktivitäten sowie wichtigen Sanitäranlagen und Hygienemaßnahmen, wird die sozio-ökonomische sowie die sanitäre Situation der Flüchtlinge aus Mali und der lokalen Bevölkerung in der Region Sahel (Burkina Faso) verbessert. Neben dem engen Kontakt von OCADES mit der lokalen Bevölkerung, arbeitet OCADES auch viel mit anderen NGOs vor Ort, sowie mit UNHCR und lokalen Autoritäten zusammen. Durch diese Koordinierung können Synergien geschaffen und die Hilfe vor Ort effizienter gestaltet werden.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
