Short Description:

Overall goal

The project focuses on humanitarian assistance activities for Sudanese and other refugees in Ethiopia, particularly in the sectors of health/nutrition, domestic needs, water supply, and international protection. The respective activities will be implemented in the refugee camps in the two Western states of Gambella and Benishangul-Gumuz. Approximately 70,830 refugees in Western Ethiopia will benefit either directly or indirectly from the implementation of this project.

The activities will be carried out in line with UNHCR¿s Global Strategic Objective 1 (support of governments in the provision of protection and assistance). In line with the Agenda for Protection (Goal 6), UNHCR programmes in Ethiopia systematically mainstream gender and age sensitivities, considering the number of women, children and elderly persons as one of the main parameters.
