Humanitarian Relief Activities in IDP-hosting Schools in Beirut, Lebanon
Short Description:
Overall goal
Due to the ongoing conflict in Lebanon, many people are fleeing from their homes and find shelter in schools around Beirut, which have started to serve as camps for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). The situation of the affected population is deteriorating daily, with food items, bottled water, medicins and hygienic items being among the most needed basic living items.
The project aims to distribute food and basic living supply-kits to at least 270 displaced people in one IDP-hosting school for a period of 3 months on a weekly basis. 1000 IDP's in 31 IDP-hosting schools and selected hospitals will receive medicine and hygiene articles, which are sourced from a humanitarian transport of donated medicine and hygienic items from Austrian companies in the value of approx. 60.000 Euro. In addition, the project aims to conduct psycho-social activities with emphasis on potentially traumatised children in one IDP-hosting school.
