Short Description:

Overall goal


Die Zerstörung des Regenwaldes Amazoniens in Brasilien ist ein globales Problem, das unter anderem damit zusammenhängt, dass der teilweise illegale Raubbau an den Wäldern und der zerstörerische Zugriff auf die Landressourcen und die dortigen Bodenschätze leicht gemacht wird. Um dies zu verhindern ist die Schaffung von Schutzgebieten sowie die gesellschaftliche und wirtschaftliche Stärkung der dort lebenenden Indigenen Gesellschaften nötig.


Mit dem Know-how des Instituto Socioambiental ISA und Horizont3000' unterstützt das Projekt die FOIRN, den Dachverband der indigenen Organisationen im Gebiet des Oberen Rio Negro im Grenzgebiet zu Kolumbien und Venezuela, damit diese sich effektiv um die unmittelbaren Bedürfnisse und politischen Anliegen kümmern kann. Das Projekt förderte in der Vergangenheit die FOIRN im politischen Lobbying, der Demarkation von indigenen Territorien, dem Aufbau von Schulen, Lehrmittlen und Curricula, Verbesserungen in der Fischerei, des traditionellen Landbaus und des Kunsthandwerks sowie bei dessen Vermarktung. Es schaffte dadurch höhere Ernährungssicherheit und Einkommen für die rund 30.000 Einwohner der Region.


In dieser letzten, abschließenden Projektphase gilt es nun vor allem, den bereits vorher erstellten längerfristigen regionalen Entwicklungsplan zu konkretisieren und die bereits beachtlichen, konsolidierten Kapazitäten der FOIRN soweit zu stärken, dass diese selbständig erfolgreiche regionale Projekte entwickeln und mit nationaler und/oder externer Finanzierung operativ umsetzen kann.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
