Overall goal


Die öffentlich zugängliche Ausleihbibliothek und Dokumentationsstelle des Lateinamerika Instituts (LAI) ist in Österreich insofern ein Unikum, da sie hauptsächlich auf den iberoamerikanischen Raum spezialisiert ist. Die Sammelschwerpunkte sind Wirtschaft. Politik, Geschichte, Kultur, Gesellschaft und Ökologie der lateinamerikanischen Staaten sowie Spaniens und Portugals .


Das LAI wird 2006/2007 rund 300 Monographien und 180 Fachzeitschriften erschließen und die Kooperation mit anderen entwicklungs-politischen Bibliotheks- und Dokumentationsstellen in Österreich und mit internationalen Partnern weiterführen bzw. ausbauen. Die Öffentlichkeitsarbeit umfasst die Beratung von Einzelpersonen und Institutionen, die Kontakte und Informationen über Lateinamerika su-chen, sowie die Betreuung der Internetseite www.lai.at.


Diese Maßnahme zählt zu den Kernfunktionen, und ist mittlerweile gut eingeführt. Das Leistungspaket wurde in Kooperation mit den anderen Bibliothekstellen im Verbund (ÖFSE, Frauensolidarität, Baobab) erarbeitet und wird transparent dargestellt.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 79.800,00 in der Höhe von EUR 56.570,00 (70,89 %) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
