Overall goal


Im Juni 2012 wird ein großer internationaler Caritas-Kongress zum Thema Hunger und nachhaltige Ernährungssicherheit in Wien abgehalten. Für die Vorträge und Diskussionen des 2-tägigen Events werden rund 500-700 TeilnehmerInnen (NGOs, Unternehmen, engagierte Personen, StudentInnen, Caritas-Partner) erwartet. Das Programm bietet einen umfassenden Blick auf die Problematik und Ursachen von Hunger in einem globalen Kontext, Handlungsmöglichkeiten der unterschiedlichen gesellschaftlichen AkteurInnen (Politik, Wirtschaft, persönlicher Lebensstil) werden aufgezeigt; Beispiele der Armutsbekämpfung aus der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit dargestellt.

Intensive begleitende Medienkooperationen (ORF, Radio, Printmedien) sollen für eine möglichst breite öffentliche Debatte und Aufklärung zum Thema Hunger/Ernährungssicherheit in Österreich sorgen. Für die Umsetzung verantwortlich zeichnen Caritas Österreich - Programmgruppe Ernährungshilfe, in Zusammenarbeit mit Caritas Europa und Caritas Internationalis. Mit dem Projekt soll die Teilnahme von Vortragenden und Partnerorganisationen ermöglicht werden.

Das Projekt wird aus OEZA-Mitteln in der Höhe von Euro 30.000,- (25 % des Gesamtprojektvolumens) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
