Overall goal


Das von der ADA organisierte internationale Seminar "Development Education & Awareness Raising for Development Issues: A Challenge for Emerging Donors" findet am 29. Jänner und 30. Jänner 2007 in Wien statt. Das Ziel ist, Herausforderungen, aktuelle Realitäten sowie zukünftige Perspektiven in der entwicklungspolitischen Inlandsarbeit in einem größeren Kontext zu beleuchten. Damit setzt die ADA den wirksamen Weg des Dialogs mit den neuen EU-Geberländern fort, der im November 2005 mit dem Seminar "Harmonisation and Alignment" in Wien begann und im Rahmen der European Development Days (EDD) im November 06 mit der Veranstaltung: "Positioning and Role of EU-10 and acceding Countries on Division of Labour and Co-financing" in Brüssel weitergeführt wurde.


Die Hauptzielgruppe dieses "Development und Awareness Raising" Seminars sind die staatlichen Stellen der neuen EU-Mitgliedstaaten, welche mit diesen Themen betraut sind. Im Mittelpunkt steht der Kapazitätsaufbau in den Ländern, welcher durch den Erfahrungs- und Wissensaustausch unterstützt wird. Experten und Expertinnen der OECD sowie aus Großbritannien, Schweiz und Österreich stellen ihr Wissen bereit.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
