Overall goal


Die Zielsetzung des Projektes - Jugendbeschäftigung im Baugewerbe in Nord-Uganda - ist die Kurz-Ausbildung von 500 Jugendlichen zwischen 15 und 24 Jahren für technische Berufssparten und die Unterstützung der AbsolventInnen bei der Eingliederung in den Arbeitsmarkt. Vorwiegend werden dabei Jugendliche sowie junge Frauen und Männer einbezogen, die aus verschiedenen Gründen wie Armut, Ausgrenzung, fehlende Bildungsmöglichkeiten, frühe Schwangerschaften keinen anerkannten Schulabschluss erreichen konnten. Der geographische Schwerpunkt liegt in den Distrikten Lira und Abletong in Nord-Uganda, die durch den langjährigen Bürgerkrieg stark in Mitleidenschaft gezogen wurden. Dementsprechend erhält die Zielgruppe auch Kurse, durch die ihre persönlichen Fähigkeiten gestärkt werden, unter anderem: Persönlichkeitsstärkung, Geschlechterbeziehungen, sexuelle Aufklärung, Demokratie und Mitbestimmung (life skills approach). Registrierte Ausbildungsinstitute und lokale KleinunternehmerInnen sind für die Durchführung der Kurse verantwortlich und erhalten im Austausch Unterstützung in ihrem eigenen Betrieb. Als Einstiegshilfe in den Arbeitsmarkt wird das Projekt auch lokale und nationale Bauunternehmen einbeziehen, um den AbsolventInnen der Kurse kurzzeitige Ausbildungsplätze und längerfristige Beschäftigungsmöglichkeiten anbieten zu können. Die Durchführung der Projektaktivitäten findet in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem lokalen Projektpartner Concerned Parents Association (CPA) und den lokalen Behörden statt.
