Overall goal


Die seit 1984 herausgegebene Zeitschrift WANI ist die einzige regelmäßig erscheinende, wissenschaftliche Zeitschrift (vierteljährlich) über und für die nicaraguanische Atlantikregion. In diesem Zusammenhang leistet WANI einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Entwicklung und Verbesserung der Bildungsarbeit in dieser Region, insbesondere auf dem Gebiet der Umwelterziehung und der zweisprachigen interkulturellen Bildung, die von der OEZA sowohl in Nicaragua als auch in Guatemala seit vielen Jahren aktiv unterstützt wird. Die Förderung der noch relativ wenig entwickelten Forschungsarbeit und die Arbeit an wissenschaftlichen Publikationen stellen außerdem einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Autonomieförderung für die Karibikregionen dar.


Wie aus dem Projektdokument anliegenden Empfehlungs- und Dankschreiben hervorgeht, wird die Zeitschrift sowohl in der Atlantik- als auch in der Pazifikregion gern gelesen und als Grundlage für andere wissenschaftliche Publikationen genutzt. Die OEZA finanziert in diesem Fall die 46. Ausgabe der Zeitschrift (die dritte des laufenden Jahres). Die übrigen drei Ausgaben werden von IBIS Dänemark, KEPA Finnland und der Weltbank finanziert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
