Overall goal


Die Munizipien Canudos, Uauá und Curaçá im semiariden Dürregebiet Nordostbrasiliens liegen gemessen am Lebensstandard (HDI) hinter den meisten afrikanischen Staaten. Im Rahmen eines Vorgängerprojektes (ebenfalls EU-Kofinanzierung mit Ergänzungsfinanzierung) konnten erhebliche Fortschritte im Problembereich familiäre Wasserversorgung erzielt werden.

Zielsetzung und Beschreibung der Zielgruppe:

Das Projekt zielt auf die Verbesserung der Lebensbedingungen der ländlichen Bevölkerung in den drei genannten Munizipien ab, was auf dem Weg einer integralen Anwendung des Convivência-Prinzips auf die Bereiche Wasserwirtschaft, Produktion, Erziehung und (lokale) Politik erreicht werden soll. Dazu gehört auch die rechtliche Absicherung der Gemeinschaftsweiden, die Förderung der Beteiligung von Frauen und Jugendlichen an den sozialen und politischen Prozessen der Gemeinschaften und der Munizipien. Auch im Rahmen der Entwicklung einer Kooperative, welche die lokale Wertschöpfung durch innovative und zugleich lokal angepasste Produkte erhöht, sollen besonders Einkommen für Frauen und Jugendliche geschaffen werden. Zielgruppen sind Kleinbauern/-bäuerinnen (9.500), davon in den einzelnen Komponenten 550 Frauen und Jugendliche, 220 MultiplikatorInnen und 220 Führungspersonen von 64 Communities/CBOs/Movimentos. Durch die Arbeit mit den Schulen soll das Lehr- und Leitungspersonal (880 Personen) und die SchülerInnen (ca. 17.900) sämtlicher öffentlicher Primärschulen der Region erreicht werden. Zielgruppe für Fort- und Weiterbildungsmaßnahmen sind noch ca. 40 MitarbeiterInnen des Projekts bzw. der daran partizipierenden Fachbereiche der Partnerorganisation.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
