Overall goal


Das Projekt soll vorerst rund um Khartoum implementiert werden. Dies deshalb weil sich ein Gürtel der allerärmsten Bevölkerung rund um Khartoum (Camps, Slums) gebildet hat. Allerdings sind es gerade die Frauen, die arbeiten möchten und sich mit allem Möglichen etwas verdienen wollen.


Viele sudanesische Frauen - meistens Flüchtlingsfrauen, Witwen, Mütter bzw. Frauen ohne soziale Netzwerke - sind ohne regelmäßiges Einkommen. Jene Frauen halten sich oft durcch eigenes Engagement wie Teekochen und dessen Verkauf auf der Straße sowie Auslösen der Erdnüsse über Wasser.


Um diesen Frauen und speziell deren Kindern mehr Perspektiven zu geben, möchten wir den sudanesischen Frauen das Einkochen von Marmelade vorstellen. Da zur Marmeladenproduktion die Zutaten vor Ort vorhanden sind, jedoch das notwendige Fachwissen fehlt, wird Marmelade vom Sudan importiert und sehr viel heimisches Obst verdirbt vor Ort. Die Produktion der Marmelade, insbesondere die hygienische Umgangsweise sowie Konservierung und Lagerung derer, ist einfach zu erlernen und durchzuführen. Aus dieser Erfahrung entstand die Idee zu diesem Fruchtverarbeitungsprojekt.


Das heimische Obst zu nutzen und neue Einkommensquellen für die Frauen zu erschließen, und damit dem Weg zur finanziellen Unabhängigkeit näher zu kommen ist sicherlich dem Selbstwert der Frauen und Ihren Familien dienlich. Die nötigen Produktionsmittel sind vor Ort vorhanden. Damit diese Marmelade auch auf dem offiziellen Markt gekauft wird, soll sie als österreichisch - sudanesische Kooperation mit einem entsprechenden Logo erscheinen. Nach Abschluss dieses Fruchtverarbeitungsworkshops soll es auch ein für diesen Zweck entworfenes Zertifikat geben.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
