Das Projekt knüpft an das HOPE '87 Projekt 2181-00/2002 an, um in einer weiteren Phase das Minenopfer-Programm in Sarajewo zu konsolidieren und zu stärken.


Bosnien und Herzegowina ist nach wie vor eines der am stärksten von Minen verseuchten Länder Europas (mehr als 30.000 verminte gebierte mit schätzungsweise einer Million Minen). HOPE '87 setzt sich für die Minenopfer in Bosnien und Herzegowina ein und verfolgt einen integrativen Ansatz, die Verbindung von medizinischer und sozialer Rehabilitation von Minenopfern. Im Rahmen des Projekts wird die umfassende Behandlung und Reintegration von insbesondere Minenopfern, aber auch anderer Kriegsversehrter, Menschen mit Behidnerung und benachteiligten Jugendlichen durch die Einrichtung eines Medical und Educational centers unterstützt.
