Short Description:

Overall goal


Oberziel des Projektes ist, zur Demokratisierung der südosteuropäischen Länder und Regionen beizutragen. Dazu ist die Förderung und Verteidigung der Pressefreiheit unabdingbar. Daher werden JournalistInnen und ChefredakteurInnen aller Mediensparten in SEE die Möglichkeit zur Weiterbildung und zum Erfahrungsaustausch mit JournalistInnen / ChefredakteurInnen aus anderen Ländern bekommen.

Schwerpunkte sind u.a. Gleichberechtigung von Mann und Frau, Umwelt-Bildung, journalistische, politische, kulturelle und geschichtliche Weiterbildung, die Vermeidung von Hate Speech, Informationen über die EU. Unterstützung der Investigative ReporterInnen, Konfliktvermeidung sowie der Aufbau von gegenseitigem Verständnis, und Selbsterhalt der Medien und Medienorganisationen vor Ort. Als Hauptaktivitäten sind Konferenzen als Treffen von führenden MedienvertreterInnen sowie Forschungsarbeit vor Ort geplant. Die Ergebnisse werden in Publikationen zusammengefasst und veröffentlicht, sowie durch Resolutionen der einzelnen Konferenzen präsentiert. Zusätzliche Ergebnisse sind Beiträge für Bildungsaktivitäten und Erhöhung der Professionalität der Medien / Anpassung an internationale und EU Standards.

Durch das Projekt werden über 1.200 führende MedienvertreterInnen bei Konferenzen, und zahlreiche weitere bei Research-Arbeiten und Publikationen aus Südosteuropa in diese Aktivitäten eingebunden. Partnerorganisationen vor Ort sind führende Medien und Medienorganisationen, aber auch internationale Partner, wie z.B. die OSZE.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
