FIAN – FoodFirst Informations- und AktionsNetzwerk ist eine internationale Menschenrechts-organisation, die sich für das Recht auf Nahrung einsetzt und als globales Netzwerk agiert.

Inhaltlicher Fokus des FIAN Österreich-Aktionsprogramms 2015-2017 sind internationale Menschenrechte im Kontext der globalen Agrar- und Ernährungspolitik: Tendenzen in der transnationalen Lebensmittelindustrie sollen kritisch beleuchtet, das Verständnis für Auswirkungen gestärkt sowie menschenrechtliche Verpflichtungen aufgezeigt werden. Zielgruppen sind politische Entscheidungsträger_innen, Journalist_innen, NGO-Mitarbeiter_innen, Studierende und Lehrende sowie die breitere Öffentlichkeit. Protestbriefaktionen, Kampagnen und langfristige Fallarbeit, Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, Bildung und Beratung bilden die Grundlagen der angestrebten Stärkung des Rechts auf Nahrung.

Die Programmaktivitäten umfassen (1) Recherche und Dokumentation (3 Themen- und Falldossiers), (2) Information und Kommunikation (ein Infopaket, Schwerpunkte in 9 Ausgaben des FOODFirst-Magazins, Medienarbeit mit 5 Gastkommentaren (Reichweite 2.000.000 Personen), Newsletter, die Restaurant-Aktion Mir isst es Recht (300 Restaurants) und eine Speakers‘ Tour mit Medienarbeit, Infoveranstaltungen und Dialogrunden) sowie (3) Bildung und Training (Filmtage Hunger.Macht.Profite. mit Vermittlungsprogramm, eine Impulskonferenz, eine Recht auf Nahrung–Akademie, MultiplikatorInnen-Training). Wichtige Kooperationspartner sind die Mitgliedsorganisationen der internationalen ETO-Gruppe des WSK-Rechte Forums, Finance and Trade Watch, Global Right to Food and Nutrition Network, das Nyéléni Austria Netzwerk und WIDE/NGO-CEDAW-Komitee. Insgesamt werden mit dem Programm über 2 Mio. Menschen in Österreich erreicht.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
