Overall goal


Das Afro-Asiatische Institut (AAI) in Wien ist seit über 40 Jahren ein interkultureller und interreligiöser Treffpunkt. Das AAI bietet Menschen mit und ohne Zuwanderungsgeschichte die Möglichkeit sich mit dem Einfluss von Migration auf die drei Themenbereiche Wirtschaft – Kunst und Kultur – Friedensarbeit auf unterschiedlichen Ebenen auseinanderzusetzen. Im Rahmen von Schwerpunkttagen zu Migration und Wirtschaft werden die Auswirkungen der Remittances kritisch beleuchtet. In künstlerischen Schwerpunktwochen präsentieren Menschen mit Zuwanderungsgeschichte ihre Sicht auf Fragen, Hintergründe und Auslöser von Migration und ihre Auswirkung auf die Entwicklung der Kunst in Herkunftsländern und aufnehmenden Gesellschaften. Zum Thema Friedensarbeit werden Jahrestage zu historischen Betrachtungen genutzt, Filme, Texte und Lieder von und über Frauen präsentiert. Bezug wird auch auf aktuelle Ereignisse in Afrika und im Nahen Osten genommen.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 67.500.- in der Höhe von Euro 12.000.- (17,78 %) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
