Overall goal


Das Projekt folgt einem mikroregionalen Ansatz. In der Mikroregion MES soll der integrale Entwicklungsprozeß gestärkt werden, wobei wirtschaftliche und soziale Aspekte im Vordergrund stehen.

Die Basis für den sozialen Entwicklungsprozeß bildet ein Organisationssystem, das die gesamte Bevölkerung aktiv in das Projektgeschehen einbindet. Ihre Teilnahme an den Entscheidungsprozessen und die Koordination der Aktivitäten wird über Dorfversammlungen, mikroregionale Versammlungen und die Wahl eines Führungsgremiums sichergestellt.


Vorstudien über das wirtschaftliche Potential der Mikroregion empfehlen die Viehzucht als Kernaktivität. Dementsprechend kommt der wirtschaftliche Impuls aus Kleinprojekten der Rinderzucht. Jährlich werden in verschiedenen Dörfern 6 Subprojekte auf Kreditbasis initiiert, die folgende Aktivitäten beinhalten: Verbesserung der Weiden, Verbesserung der Infrastruktur und Hygiene sowie Aufstockung des Rinderbestandes. Die entsprechenden Rentabilitätsstudien wurden bereits durchgeführt. Die wirtschaftlichen Aktivitäten werden durch ein Aus- und Fortbildungsprogramm unterstützt. Das Führungsgremium und die Dorfvertreter haben die Möglichkeit, im Rahmen von Seminaren und Workshops ihre Führungsqualitäten zu verbessern und somit aktiver und effizienter zur Mikroregionalentwicklung beizutragen. Durch Weiterbildung und technische Beratung in den Rinderzuchtsubprojekten wird die Rentabilität der Investitionen abgesichert. Sie umfaßt optimale Landnutzung, Weidewirtschaft, Viehhaltung, Administration und Vermarktung.


Frauen spielen in allen Projektaktivitäten eine wichtige Rolle. Ihr Zugang zu den Investitionskrediten ist ebenso sichergestellt wie ihre Teilnahme an den Aus- und Fortbildungsprogrammen sowie ihre Rolle in der mikroregionalen Organisation.
