Overall goal


Ziel des Projektes ist es, eine in Österreich entwickelte und erprobte, energiesparende Backofentechnik und das Know-How zum Betrieb von Kleinbäckereien in Länder der österreichischen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit zu transferieren. Mit der Technologie sowie dem Know-How sollen Social Business Units (Erzeugung und Verkauf von hochwertigem Brot) bei Partnerorganisationen der Caritas aufgebaut werden. Lokale Fachkräfte werden ausgebildet und Beschäftigungsmöglichkeiten für benachteiligte Gruppen geschaffen.


Expected results


Zumindest sechs lokale Partnerorganisationen der Caritas sind in das Projekt eingebunden, um einkommensgenerierende Tätigkeiten durchzuführen. Pro Kleinbäckerei werden 18 Personen direkt einen Arbeitsplatz erhalten, und damit insgesamt 108 Vollzeitäquivalente entstehen. Zusätzlich werden für Rohstoffbeschaffung und Vertrieb bis zu 15 weitere Arbeitsplätze geschaffen. Die Öfen und Social Business Units werden an die nationalen bzw. lokalen Gegebenheiten adaptiert.


Target group / Beneficiaries


Klein-Bäckereien stellen eine Möglichkeit dar, um Einkommen bzw. Arbeitsplätze zu schaffen.Viele Partnerorganisationen der Caritas im Süden und Osten sind auf der Suche nach Projekten zur Einkommenserzielung, um ihre sozialen Tätigkeiten zu finanzieren. Dieser Idee Folge leistend, sollen „Social Business Units“ gegründet werden, die einen finanziellen Überschuss generieren. Die Gewinne aus dieser Tätigkeit werden zur Finanzierung von sozialen Aktivitäten der NGO verwendet (das Social Entrepreneurship Modell). Langfristig werden lokale Partnerstrukturen der Caritas in ihrer Selbstbestimmtheit gestärkt, während die Fa. Gragger mit Know-How und Technologietransfer sein Geschäftsmodell im Ausland ausweitet. Besonders benachteiligte Personen werden in die Wertschöpfung integriert.


Activities


Ziel der Machbarkeitsstudie ist es

- an den jeweiligen Standorten technische Details zur Errichtung eines Brotbackofens abzuklären (klimaschonendster Brennstoff, Dimensionierung),

- die Wirtschaftlichkeit der geplanten Investitionen zu prüfen (Business Plan),

- mit den lokalen Partnern den Betrieb der Kleinbäckerei zu planen, sodass diese ertragbringend ist und ein entwicklungspolitischer Mehrwert entsteht (z.B. Beschäftigungsförderung für benachteiligte Zielgruppen).

Gemeinsam mit dem Unternehmen Gragger und einem/r MitarbeiterIn der Caritas werden diese Rahmenbedingungen im Zuge der Studie überprüft.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
