Overall goal


Die 1967 gegründete Österreichische Forschungsstiftung für Internationale Entwicklung - ÖFSE ist die größte entwicklungspolitische Forschungseinrichtung in Österreich. Sie gliedert sich in die Unternehmensbereiche Wissenschaft & Forschung und Bibliothek & Dokumentation. Seit 2004 kooperiert die ÖFSE mit dem Mattersburger Kreis im Projekt Paulo Freire Zentrum.


Durch das gegenständliche Projekt wird der Arbeitsbereich Bibliothek und Dokumentation gefördert, in dem Veröffentlichungen zu allgemeinen entwicklungspolitischen Themen und zu Schwerpunktthemen der OEZA dokumentiert werden. Die Bibliothek mit einem Gesamtbestand von 62.000 Bänden ist rund 1.400 Stunden im Jahr geöffnet und wird von ca. 5.500 NutzerInnen jährlich besucht. Darüber hinaus gibt es ca. 45.000 Web-BesucherInnen jährlich. Die ÖFSE ist Mitglied im Österreichischen Bibliothekenverbund.


Die ÖFSE setzt Informationsmaßnahmen als Ergebnis aufgearbeiteter Literatur und Dokumente. Dies erfolgt im Wesentlichen über die Webseiten www.oefse.at und www.eza.at.


Die ÖFSE betreut 5 Online-Datenbanken, die v.a. Informationen zu EZA-Institutionen, Projekten, Webseiten und Spendenvorgängen bieten.


Die ÖFSE ist koordinierendes Mitglied im Informationsverbund Globale Entwicklungen und lädt einmal jährlich zu einem Studientag ein. Mit den beiden PartnerInnen Frauensolidarität und Baobab am Standort 1090 Wien Berggasse 7 gibt es Vereinbarungen zu einer gemeinsamen Öffentlichkeitsarbeit. International ist die ÖFSE u.a. mit der Europadokumentation von EADI und mit dem Informationsverbund Entwicklungspolitik vernetzt.


Die vorrangigen Zielgruppen stellen für die ÖFSE Studierende, wissenschaftlich arbeitende Menschen, Lehrkräfte, MitarbeiterInnen in staatlichen wie privaten EZA-Organisationen, EntscheidungsträgerInnen in Politik, Kirchen, Verwaltung.


Das Projekt wird für das Jahr 2008 bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 540.230,00 in der Höhe von EUR 528.230,00 ( 97,78%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
