Overall goal


Die Südwind-Buchwelt-BuchhandelsGesmbH ist eine gemeinnützige Firma, die zu ihren Aufgaben den Verkauf und Vertrieb von entwicklungspolitischer Literatur aller Art, CDs mit Weltmusik und fair gehandelten Produkten zählt. Sie gibt auch vereinzelt Bücher zu entwicklungspolitischen Themen heraus.


Südwind-Buchwelt erbringt nachweislich Leistungen, die im normalen Buchhandel nicht erbracht werden. Dazu gehört die Bekanntmachung und Bewerbung von entwicklungspolitischer Literatur, deren Verkauf sich im standardisierten Buchhandel nicht rechnet. Es gehört weiters dazu, über entwicklungspolitische Literatur im gesamten Bundesgebiet zu informieren und die Bekanntmachung nicht nur auf städtische Zentren zu beschränken.


Durch das Projekt wird der entwicklungspolitische Bildungsauftrag von Südwind-Buchwelt gefördert, der über die üblichen Werbe- und Marketingaufgaben einer Firma hinausgeht und aus den laufenden Erträgen nicht finanziert werden kann. Es handelt sich konkret um die Herausgabe und den Vertrieb eines mehrmals jährlich erscheinenden Katalogs (mit dem eine großflächige Versorgung von rund 70.000 BezieherInnen mit aktueller entwicklungspolitischer Information sichergestellt wird), die weitere Modernisierung der Website (um den Nutzen der Online-Informationen zu vergrößern und damit auch im Online-Handel konkurrenzfähig zu werden) sowie die außerordentlichen Beratungsleistungen in den Geschäften. Die Förderung dieser Maßnahmen unterstützt die Herstellung der organisatorischen Basis für diese Tätigkeiten. Andernfalls würde das EZA-Anliegen inhaltlich aus dem Mittelpunkt rücken. Ebenso würden fachspezifische entwicklungspädagogische Materialien aus dem Sortiment herausfallen.

Es wird zudem berücksichtigt, dass die allf. Einbindung der von Südwind-Buchwelt erbrachten Leistungen andernorts teurer käme.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 45.838,78 in der Höhe von

EUR 20.000,00 (43,63 %) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
