Overall goal


Das 19. Filmfestival Innsbruck zeigt von 1.-6. Juni 2010 in seinem internationalen Wettbewerb Filme aus Afrika, Asien und Lateinamerika. Grundidee ist, die kulturelle Vielfalt dieser Kontinente einem größeren Publikum zugänglich zu machen. Es werden mindestens 50 Filme präsentiert und ausgezeichnet. Neben dem Filmpreis des Landes Tirol für den besten Spielfilm, gibt es wieder einen Publikumswettbewerb, den Dokumentarfilmpreis sowie den Südwind-Preis vergeben durch eine SchülerInnenjury. Erklärtes Ziel ist filmisches Schaffen aus Entwicklungsländern vermehrt im österreichischen Kulturangebot zu integrieren. Etwa die Aufnahme ausgewählter Produktionen in heimische Programmkinos oder Filmverleih, aber auch der Einsatz geeigneter Beiträge bei anderen kulturellen Großveranstaltungen. Die Filmvorführungen werden durch ein umfangreiches Begleitprogramm (Publikumsdiskussionen, Ausstellungen, Workshops und Konzerte) ergänzt. Schwerpunkte 2010 sind u.a. die Situation von Frauen und Kindern in Ländern des Südens, sowie anlässlich der Fußball-WM 2010 eine Programmschiene mit dem Arbeitstitel - East African Window- mit Filmen ostafrikanischer FilmemacherInnen. Die Retrospektive unter dem Titel

- Träumen mit offenen Augen - ist dem argentinischen Filmemacher und Filmtheoretiker Fernando Birri gewidmet. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt gilt dem südosteuropäischen Raum: Nach einer sehr schwierigen Zeit des Umbruchs spiegeln sich Identitätssuche und Neuaufbau in den Filmen der jungen Generation wieder. Zielgruppe sind neben kino- und kulturinteressierten Gästen auch Menschen, die sich mit den Rahmenbedingungen von Entwicklung noch nicht auseinandergesetzt haben.


Das Projekt wird in der Höhe von Euro 10.000,00 (6,67% des Gesamtprojektvolumens) gefördert.
