Overall goal


Das Paulo Freire Zentrum betreibt eine von Paulo Freire inspirierte entwicklungspolitische Bildungsarbeit. Im Sinne Paulo Freires bietet es AkteurInnen entwicklungspolitischer Institutionen Veranstaltungen und damit Raum an, entwicklungspolitische Praxis zu reflektieren und weiter zu entwickeln. Die Arbeit wird wissenschaftlich begleitet und über diverse Publikationsschienen (online, TV) öffentlich zugänglich gemacht.

Hauptaktivität 2014 ist die Organisation und Durchführung der

6. Österreichischen Entwicklungstagung im November 2014 in Salzburg zum Thema ,Entwicklung im Umbruch. Neue geopolitische Verhältnisse und die Zukunft der Entwicklungspolitik, sowie dreier Vorveranstaltungen dazu.

Weiters sind ein zweitägiges Symposium in Wien ‚10 Jahre Paulo Freire Zentrum‘, die Beteiligung an der C3-Veranstaltungsreihe 'Bildung im C3entrum' sowie die Fortführung bewährter und erfolgreicher Aktivitäten (Bildungsprojekte unterschiedlicher Ausrichtung, Transfer von Wissen, Erfahrungen und Reflexionen durch Kommunikation und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit) vorgesehen.

Zielgruppen sind MultiplikatorInnen im Bereich Entwicklungspolitik und anderer relevanter Bildungsbereiche und Organisationen, die mit sozial schlechter gestellten Menschen arbeiten.

Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 141.900,- in der Höhe von Euro 101.000,- (71,16%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
