Overall goal


Das integrierte Programm für die Entwicklung von Flusseinzugsgebieten auf der Insel Santiago, PIDBHIS (Projecto Integrado de Desenvolvimento de Bacias Hidrográficas na Ilha de Santiago) zur Sicherstellung einer nachhaltigen Nutzung und Bewirtschaftung der natürlichen Ressourcen Wasser - Boden - Pflanzen wurde in den drei Einzugsgebieten Ribeira Saltos, Ribeira Sao Miguel und Ribeira Grande zwischen 2005 und 2008 durchgeführt. Aufgrund viel versprechender Ergebnisse unterstützt die OEZA nun eine Konsolidierungsphase, deren Planung auf den Ergebnissen des Reviews vom November 2008 basiert und insb. die Fertigstellung der Infrastrukturmaßnahmen ermöglichen soll.

Im Rahmen des Projekts werden Maßnahmen durchgeführt, die bereits in der ersten Phase vom PIDBHIS begonnen worden sind aber noch nicht nachhaltig abgesichert werden konnten. Gleichzeitig wird auch eine Transitionsphase gewährt, die dem Projektpartner einen gewissen Spielraum einräumt, mit anderen potenziellen Gebern über die Weiterfinanzierung des Programms zu verhandeln.

Unter anderem, sind folgende Aktivitäten und Resultate vorgesehen:

Schaffung von 7 Bewässerungsgebieten mit einer Gesamtfläche von 45 ha (4 Gebiete in Ribeira Grande ¿ Tarrafal, 1 in São Miguel und 2 in Ribeira Saltos);

10 Familienbetriebe im Bereich Viehzucht sind gegründet und produktiv;

10 Familienbetriebe im Bereich Bienenzucht (Apikultur) sind gegründet und produktiv;

19 Begünstigte im Bereich der Ziegenhaltung haben am Erfahrungsaustausch mit der Insel Fogo teilgenommen,

12 Begünstigte im Bereich der Viehzucht (Einheit für Viehzucht) und 30 Begünstigte SchweinhalterInnen (Einheiten für Schweinhaltung) haben am Erfahrungsaustausch mit der Insel Fogo teilgenommen;

alle Begünstigten in den Bereichen Landwirtschaft und Tierhaltung sind entsprechend ausgebildet (spezifische Trainingskurse);

Finanzierungsantrag an die African Water Facility zur Fortführung der Aktivitäten gestellt.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
