Overall goal


Das Oberziel des Hochschullehrganges "Peace and Conflict Studies" liegt auf der Förderung einer Kultur des Friedens und der Gewaltfreiheit. Darüber hinaus wird ein Beitrag zur wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Entwicklung in den Herkunftsländern der Studierenden geleistet. Konkretes Projektziel ist die Ausbildung von Studierenden aus Afrika, Asien, Lateinamerika, Südosteuropa und GUS in den Bereichen Frieden, Entwicklung, Sicherheit und Konflikttransformation.

Als Ergebnisse werden ein erfolgreich absolvierter Lehrgang erwartet sowie die Befähigung der 4 StipendiatInnen, nach der Rückkehr in ihre Herkunftsländer die an der EPU erworbenen Kenntnisse in der täglichen Arbeit umzusetzen, auch unter Inanspruchnahme des Netzwerkes, das sie an der EPU knüpfen konnten.

Geplante Maßnahmen / Hauptaktivitäten: Vorlesungen im Bereich Frieden und Entwicklung, akademische Exkursionen (z.B.: Wien - UNO), formeller und informeller Erfahrungsaustausch durch Referate, Gespräche etc.


Zielgruppe sind: 2 StipendiatInnen aus Schwerpunkt- bzw. Partnerländern der OEZA (Zielgruppe A), 2 StipendatInnen aus der GUS, insbesondere aus einem Partnerland der OEZA (Zielgruppe B). Der Hochschullehrgang richtet sich an graduierte AkademikerInnen, die am Anfang ihres Berufslebens stehen bzw. schon einschlägige Arbeitserfahrung haben und eine Karriere im Bereich Frieden und Entwicklung anstreben oder die Friedensperspektive maßgeblich in ihre Arbeit integrieren wollen.

Kontext des Projektes: Projektgebiet ist der Bereich Friedens- und Konfliktforschung, der Aspekte wie Recht (Völkerrecht, Menschenrechte), Ökonomie, Ökologie etc. inkludiert. Sozio-ökonomische Rahmenbedingungen: Die StipendiatInnen der Zielgruppe kommen aus Konflikt- bzw. Postkonfliktlän

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
