Overall goal


Zugang zu Gesundheitsversorgung ist in der Region Somali in Südostäthiopien keine Selbstverständlichkeit. Das vorliegende Projekt soll die Basisgesundheitsversorgung im Bezirk Afdeer im äußersten Süden der Region aufbauen und alle Schichten der Bevölkerung ansprechen. MSF wird dabei auf die Zusammenarbeit mit den lokalen Behörden großen Wert legen. Training für das Gesundheitspersonal des Distriktes und die Versorgung mit wichtigen Medikamenten gehören ebenso zum Programm wie die Grundversorgung von Frauen und Kindern durch die Durchführung von Impfkampagnen, die Versorgung schwangerer Frauen und die Überwachung des Ernährungsstatus von Kindern. Zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt wird auch die Behandlung von Tuberkulose angeboten werden. Die Region Somali gilt als eine der schwierigsten Randregionen Äthiopiens. Österreichs Einsatz im Gesundheitsbereich wird hier besonders geschätzt und kommt vor allem Frauen und Kindern zugute.
