Overall goal


Das Projektziel ist jungen äthiopischen Frauen aus benachteiligten sozioökonomischen Verhältnissen zu einem selbstbestimmten, materiell abgesicherten Leben zu befähigen, indem ihnen ermöglicht wird, ein staatlich akkreditiertes und marktgerechtes Berufsausbildungsprogramm zu absolvieren


Expected results


Bis 2020 wird 80 jungen Frauen durch ein Vollstipendium eine zweijährige Ausbildung zur Hotelfachkraft ermöglicht. Zudem werden im Projektzeitraum 120 Frauen in einem viermonatigen Housekeeping Programm ausgebildet. Anschließend sollen alle Absolventinnen in den Arbeitsmarkt integriert werden.


Target group / Beneficiaries


200 junge Frauen (im Alter von 18-25) und 12 lokale MitarbeiterInnen des PROJECT-E Hospitality Institute. Neben den 212 direkten Begünstigten profitieren ungefähr 1.000 Familienmitglieder indirekt vom Projekt.


Activities


In der Berufsschule PROJECT-E Hospitality Institute in Addis Abeba werden Frauen im Rahmen eines Vollstipendiums im Bereich Hotellerie ausgebildet. Zudem durchlaufen sie Englischtrainings und verschiedene Lebenskompetenz-Trainings. Durch intensive Zusammenarbeit in Form von Praktika mit lokalen Unternehmen besitzt die Ausbildung dualen Charakter, wodurch die Studentinnen schon frühzeitig in den Arbeitsmarkt integriert werden. Weiters erhalten die Studierenden psychologische Unterstützung durch SozialarbeiterInnen. Im Rahmen des Projektes sollen die Curricula in Abstimmung mit staatlichen Institutionen modernisiert werden. Nach der Ausbildung sollen Mentorship und Berufscoaching sowie die Verlinkung mit Unternehmen die Arbeitsmarktintegration sicherstellen.


Context


Eine von PROJECT-E im Sommer 2014 durchgeführte Arbeitsmarktstudie zeigt, dass die Hotels in Äthiopien vor der Herausforderung stehen, qualifiziertes Personal zu finden, das den hohen Ansprüchen internationaler Gäste gerecht wird. Es gibt nur wenige Hotelfachschulen in Äthiopien, von denen nur ein geringer Teil staatlich akkreditiert ist. Dadurch kann die steigende Nachfrage nach qualifiziertem Personal nicht gedeckt werden. Als akkreditierte Berufsschule erfüllt das PROJECT-E Hospitality Institute alle Vorgaben des äthiopischen Ausbildungscurriculums und die Kriterien der nationalen Berufsschulagentur. Zudem wurde das Institut zum nationalen Assessment Center für Gastronomie ernannt.

Das Projekt trägt zu SDGs 1, 4, 5 und dem EU Gender Action Plan (GAP) II Ziel 13 und 14 bei. Der OEZA-Kofinanzierungsanteil beträgt 40,34 Prozent der Gesamtkosten.
