Since 2015, Burkina Faso has been going through an unprecedented security crisis following increasingly recurrent attacks by unidentified armed groups in several parts of the country. As a result, several regions, including the Centre-East region, are affected by the influx of internally displaced persons. These IDPs are exposed to very high vulnerability in host areas, including poor access to safe drinking water, hygiene, sanitation, education, and health care. In addition, there have been reported cases of human rights violations, including attacks on physical integrity, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), deprivation of liberty, violence against children, damage to property, as well as inaccessibility to basic social services. This project will consider the specific needs in terms of water, hygiene and sanitation and the involvement of people with disabilities.
