Overall goal


Das geplante Buch ist der achte Band der Reihe "Globalgeschichte und Entwicklungspolitik". Die Autorin Susan Zimmermann geht darin der Fragestellung nach, welche Rolle grenzüberschreitenden Reformbestrebungen in der Geschichte der europäischen Expansion, der Globalisierung der Marktwirtschaft und bei der Ausbreitung des internationalen Systems zukam. Weiters erforscht sie den Beitrag von grenzüberschreitenden NGOs und Bewegungen sowie internationalen Organisationen zur Infragestellung von Machtbeziehungen und sozialer Ungleichheiten in verschiedenen Teilen der Welt. Der VGS möchte mit diesem Buch zu einer reflektierten, systematischen und offenen entwicklungspolitischen Auseinandersetzung beitragen, in der das widersprüchliche Verhältnis von internationaler Reformpolitik und internationalen Machtbeziehungen beleuchtet wird. Die Veröffentlichung richtet sich an Studierende und Lehrende sowie an ein entwicklungspolitisch interessiertes Publikum. Die Distribution erfolgt durch umfassende Bewerbung, Vertrieb, Buchpräsentationen und den Einsatz bei laufenden Ringvorlesungen.

Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 9.600,- in der Höhe von EUR Euro 2.000,- (20,83%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
