Overall goal


Radio Afrika feierte im März des Jahres sein 10-jähriges Bestehen. Zentrale Anliegen seit Beginn sind der Abbau von Klischees, Stereotypen und Vorurteilen gegenüber AfrikanerInnen, die soziale und kulturelle Identität von AfrikanerInnen in Österreich zu stärken und die gesellschaftlichen Beziehungen zu Österreich zu verbessern. Radio Afrika hat sich als multimediale Plattform etabliert und plant Aktivitäten in folgenden Bereichen weiterzuführen: Radio Afrika International, Afrika TV (auf OKTO TV), Afrika online, Tribüne Afrika (Print-Magazin), Kulturaustausch und Bildungsprogramm.


Geplante Schwerpunkte der Aktivitäten 2008 und 2009 sind die Veranstaltungsreihe "Afrika hautnah" gemeinsam mit Wiener Gemeindebezirken und in Kooperation mit lokalen Organisationen/Communities; die Initiative Schülerradio "The African Way - SchülerInnen machen Radio", die verstärkt auf einen interkulturellen Austausch in Zusammenarbeit mit Schulen in Afrika ausgerichtet ist; die Serviceschiene "Planet Afrika" zum Themenkreis Migration/migrantisches Leben in Österreich und die Veranstaltungen und Sendereihe "Radio Afrika Dialog" mit Schwerpunkt Interkulturelle Kompetenz. Die Radio- bzw. TV-Sendungen werden über ORF-Volksgruppenradio MW 1476 und Radio Orange 94.0 bzw. auf OKTO TV ausgestrahlt und stehen auch zum Download im Web zur Verfügung. Außerdem ergänzen Informations- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit (u.a. Website, Medienarbeit) sowie Service/Beratung, Netzwerksarbeit sowie Schulungs- und Weiterbildungsangebote (Training Radiojournalismus & Radiotechnik) das umfangreiche Maßnahmenpaket.


Das Projekt wird aus OEZA-Mitteln in der Höhe von Euro 24.000,- (26,05% des Gesamtprojektvolumens, Laufzeit 2 Jahre) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
