Overall goal


Ziel des Programms ist die Verbesserung der Ernährungssicherheit von etwa 3.100 armen Haushalten in den Regionen Oromya (Äthiopien), Centre-Nord und Sahel (Burkina Faso), Katanga (Dem. Rep. Kongo) und Tambacounda (Senegal). Im ersten Programmjahr werden in allen Programmregionen ‚Community based organisations‘ gegründet bzw. gestärkt, die als Schnittstellen für alle Programmaktivitäten fungieren. Die Haushalte werden durch nachhaltige Landwirtschaftsmethoden (Zugang zu Geräten, verbessertem Saatgut, ökologischem Dünger) die Erträge ihrer Felder steigern. Die Förderung von Gemüseanbau und Viehzucht (v.a. Ziegen, Schafe, Hühner) soll eine Diversifizierung der bäuerlichen Produktion ermöglichen. Vor allem die Viehzucht und der Gemüseanbau stellen eine zusätzliche Einkommensquelle für die Zielgruppen dar. Durch gezielte Sensibilisierungsmaßnahmen in den Familien soll eine bessere Ernährung auf Haushaltsebene erreicht werden und etwa die Hälfte der Haushalte täglich zumindest eine ausgewogene Mahlzeit zu sich nehmen. Für einen besseren Ressourcenschutz sind Wiederaufforstungsmaßnahmen und die Verwendung von energiesparenden Kochstellen vorgesehen. Der Dialog mit Regierungsbehörden soll laufend verbessert werden, um die Bedeutung des Ressourcenschutzes, den Zugang zu Land für Kleinbauern und - bäuerinnen und die Verschmutzung der Umwelt durch Minengesellschaften zu thematisieren. Von sämtlichen Maßnahmen werden insbesondere Frauen profitieren.

Einen weiteren Schwerpunkt bildet der Wissenstransfer: einerseits des österr. Partners an die lokalen Partner, andererseits zwischen den vier Organisationen. Detaillierte Wissensdokumentation zu speziellen Aktivitäten wird zu einem strukturierten Erfahrungsaustausch und zu gemeinsamem Lernen beitragen.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
