Verbesserung der Ernährungssicherung ländlicher Haushalte in Burkina Faso, Äthiopien, Dem.Rep. Kongo

In Zusammenarbeit mit den Caritas Diözesen, als Partnerorganisationen der Caritas Österreich, in Äthiopien (Meki), in Burkina Faso (Kaya und Dori) und der DR Kongo (Lubumbashi) soll die Ernährungssicherheit von etwa 4.100 ländlichen Haushalten verbessert werden. Im ersten Programmjahr werden in allen Programmregionen "Community based organisations" gegründet bzw. gestärkt, die als Schnittstellen für alle Programmaktivitäten fungieren werden. Die Haushalte sollen durch Zugang zu Geräten, verbessertem Saatgut, ökologischem Dünger die Erträge ihrer Felder steigern. Förderung von Gemüseanbau und Viehzucht sollen eine Diversifizierung der bäuerlichen Produktion ermöglichen. Schulungen und laufende fachliche Beratung werden den Organisationen den Zugang zu lokalen oder regionalen Märkten erleichtern und die Haushalte befähigen, durch den Verkauf ihrer Produkte Einkommen zu erzielen. Schulungen der ProgrammitarbeiterInnen, Sensibilisierungs-Aktivitäten mit Schulkindern und konkrete Vorsorgemaßnahmen wie Wiederaufforstung oder der Bau von Erosionsschutzwällen sollen die Katastrophenpräventions-Kapazitäten in den Dörfern verbessern. Zudem werden durch Advocacy-Tätigkeiten zumindest einer Partnerorganisation politische Prozesse zum Thema Ernährungssicherheit auf lokaler und nationaler Ebene beeinflusst. Eine gemeinsame Schulungs-Konferenz in Äthiopien umfasst mehrere Trainingsworkshops zu ausgewählten die Ernährungssicherheit betreffenden Themen und bietet die Möglichkeit zum Erfahrungsaustausch und gemeinsamen Lernen.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
