Overall goal


Die Initiative Dritte Welt/ Informationsbüro Braunau besteht seit 25 Jahren und leistet eine bewährte, regional gut verankerte entwicklungspolitische Bildungsarbeit in der Region Innviertel. Die einzelnen Maßnahmen werden mit vielfältigen Kooperationen umgesetzt. Durch die unmittelbare Anbindung an den Weltladen Braunau und die Verbindung zu Projekten in Mittelamerika (Schwerpunkt Guatemala) kann in viele Projektmaßnahmen eine direkte "Südperspektive" eingebracht werden. Die Tätigkeit ist in eine starke ehrenamtliche Struktur eingebunden.

Das IIB bietet eine entwicklungspolitische Beratungsstelle für die Region und setzt 2006 seine Initiativen zur Stärkung des Globalen Lernens fort. Weitere inhaltliche Schwerpunkte im Jahr 2006 bilden die Themen Welthandel - Fairer Handel, Millenniumsziele und Aktivitäten mit Bezug zu Lateinamerika.

Das IIB versucht mit einem vielfältigen Bildungs- und Kulturprogramm in Braunau präsent zu sein, aktuelle entwicklungspolitische Themen aufzugreifen und eigenständige Arbeit zu entwicklungspolitischen Themen in Gruppen, Organisationen und Schulen zu initiieren und zu fördern. Im Rahmen der Angebote zur interkulturellen Begegnung werden in Kooperation mit dem Movieplexx Braunau lateinamerikanische Filme gezeigt und zum internationalen Frauentag steht u. a. Literatur afrikanischer SchriftstellerInnen am Programm.

Der "Lateinamerika-Gipfel" im Rahmen der österreichischen EU-Präsidentschaft bildet den Anlass zu einer intensiveren Thematisierung ungleicher Handelsbedingungen und der Präsentation des Fairen Handels als Alternative.

Das IIB bemüht sich mit seinem breiten und vielfältigen Angebot um den Zugang zu unterschiedlichen lokalen Zielgruppen.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 39.120,00 in der Höhe von

EUR 23.255,00 (59,54 %) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
