Overall goal


FIAN Österreich macht im Projekt "Ressource Land - ein globaler Super-Markt?" das Phänomen von Land Grabbing (Landnahme) zum Schwerpunktthema. Sie wird anhand ausgewählter afrikanischer Ländersituationen auf den Prüfstein des Menschenrechts auf Nahrung gestellt. Damit leistet FIAN einen Beitrag zur Sensibilisierung über dieses entwicklungspolitisch relevante Problem.


Die Zahl der weltweit hungernden Menschen hat 2009 die historische Marke einer Milliarde überschritten. Etwa 80 Prozent der Menschen, die an Hunger und Unterernährung leiden, leben in ländlichen Gebieten. Seit etwa zwei Jahren verstärkt sich der Druck auf fruchtbaren Boden durch das Phänomen Land Grabbing, die großflächigen Landnahmen in Entwicklungsländern durch international tätige Unternehmen oder Regierungen.


Die Aktivitäten umfassen: Recherche, Erstellung von 3 Länderprofilen, Distribution dieser, Briefings und Arbeitsgespräche bezüglich der Ergebnisse und Entwicklungen mit politischen EntscheidungsträgerInnen und JournalistInnen, die Präsentation der Länderprofile bei den Filmtagen Hunger.Macht.Profite IV im Herbst 2010. In Initiativ- und Arbeitstreffen mit ExpertInnen der (entwicklungs)politischen Bildung wird FIAN Ö prüfen, wieweit das Schwerpunktthema des Projektes auch für die schulische und außerschulische Bildungsarbeit aufbereitet werden kann.


Zielgruppen sind: JournalistInnen, politische EntscheidungsträgerInnen, entwicklungspolitisch Interessierte.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 38.000,- in der Höhe von EUR 30.000,- (78,95 %) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
