Ziel des Projektes ist es, den Markt und den Sektor für soziales Unternehmertum und Innovation in Ostafrika aufzubauen und zu unterstützen.


Expected results


Das Ziel ist erreicht, wenn…

- Zugang für Sozialunternehmen und Visionäre zu Finanzierung und Prototyping geschaffen wurde;

- Initiativen zur Marktbildung umgesetzt wurden; und

- Geschäftsmodelle skalierbar gemacht werden.


Target group / Beneficiaries


Konkret werden mind. 265 lokale Visionäre (Leaders) und unternehmerische Stakeholder von dem Programm profitieren. Indirekt werden tausende Menschen in Kenia, Uganda und Tansania von den entwickelten Innovationen einen Nutzen ziehen.


Activities


Die finanzielle Unterstützung der ADA ermöglicht den Antragsstellern die Erschließung des Marktes und den Aufbau einer Struktur zur Förderung von sozialem Intrapreneurship und sozialem Unternehmertum. Dabei wird sektorübergreifend an sozialen Innovationen gearbeitet, um Lösungen für soziale und ökologische Herausforderungen in Ostafrika zu finden. Frauen und Unternehmertum ist in dem Vorhaben ein Querschnittsthema und wird in allen Komponenten mitgedacht.


Um die ökonomische Nachhaltigkeit der strategischen Allianz zu garantieren, wird ein soziales Franchising-Modell eingeführt. Ziel ist es von dem Projekt zu lernen und in der Folge das Modell in anderen Ländern in Afrika und darüber hinaus umzusetzen. Das Vorhaben hat ein sehr hohes Skalierungspotential und das Potential, tausende Jobs zu schaffen.


Context


Die einreichende Arbeitsgemeinschaft zeichnet sich durch eine außergewöhnliche Zusammenarbeit von NGOs, Impact Investoren und der Privatwirtschaft aus. Involviert sind darüber hinaus eine Vielzahl an lokalen Stakeholder aus dem öffentlichen und privaten Sektor sowie aus der Zivilgesellschaft.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
