Overall goal


Die OEZA unterstützt bereits die Afrikanische Wasserfazilität (AWF) durch einen finanziellen Beitrag für den Spezialfonds für die AWF ("African Water Facility Special Fund"). Zweck des Fonds ist ein Zusammenschluss von Ressourcen verschiedener Donoren um gezielt nötige Rahmenbedingungen und Wasserressourcemanagement zu verbessern, damit ausreichend Investment im Bereich Wasser für den afrikanischen Kontinent mobilisiert werden kann.


Die OEZA finanziert nun mit gegenständlichem Vertrag einen österreichischen Experten im Bereich Wassermanagement, der die AWF für die Dauer von zwei Jahren operativ unterstützen soll. Der Experte wird in den Personalstand der Afrikanischen Entwicklungsbank eingegliedert, die mit der Abwicklung der AWF betraut ist. Hauptaufgabe des Experten ist die Unterstützung der AWF bei der Implementierung ihrer Aktivitäten (siehe Vertrag 2318-00/2005). Dabei wird er der AWF ganz besonders bei der Entwicklung einer Pipeline von Projekten, Programmen und Studien im Bereich "Water Supply and Sanitation" zur Seite stehen.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
