Die vorliegende humanitäre Soforthilfemaßnahme wird aus Mitteln des Auslandskatastrophenfonds gefördert.

In Folge des Erdbebens vom 12. Jänner 2010 gestaltet sich unter anderem der Zugang zu Nahrungsmitteln für die betroffene Bevölkerung schwierig. Die Preise für Nahrungsmittel sind stark schwankend, und die Obdachlosen-Camps verfügen kaum über Küchengeräte oder Kochmöglichkeiten.

Ziel der humanitären Unterstützung, die im Rahmen dieses Projekts geleistet wird, ist, die Versorgungslage von Obdachlosen in den Camps und damit auch das physische und psychische Wohlbefinden der Menschen zu verbessern.

Zielgruppe sind 3.000 vom Erdbeben betroffene Menschen in zwölf verschiedenen Obdachlosencamps in drei Gemeindebezirken (Nérette, Morne Hercule und Haut de Delmas) der Gemeinde Pétion Ville. Diese werden für einen Zeitraum von 100 Tagen mit einer warmen Mahlzeit pro Tag versorgt, wobei Kinder, alte Menschen und Menschen mit Behinderung bei der Verteilung der Mahlzeiten besonders berücksichtigt werden. Die verwendeten Nahrungsmittel werden - soweit möglich - auf dem lokalen Markt eingekauft, womit die einheimischen Bauern unterstützt werden.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
