Overall goal


Die Stärkung der Kooperativen in Bora Dembel in Äthiopien hat die Verbesserung der Nahrungsmittelsicherheit der ländlichen Bevölkerung zum Ziel. Die Entwicklungswerkstatt und ihre Partner etablierten in den letzten Jahren ein Netzwerk an Mehrzweckkooperativen in drei Regionen Bora, Dugda und Adamitulu Jido Kombolcha. Dieses Netzwerk wird nun durch den Aufbau von zwei weiteren Kooperativen und die Errichtung der Gebäudeinfrastrukturen erweitert und gestärkt.

Über einen Wissenstransfer, abgeleitet aus den bisherigen Erfahrungen beim Aufbau der Kooperativenverbände, werden folgende Ziele erreicht:

- Stärkung der Eigenversorgung der Bevölkerung mit Saatgut und Düngemitteln

- Sichere Lagerung der Getreideernte und Aufbau von strategischen Reserven;

- Ausbildung zur Saatgutproduktion;

- Identifizierung, Erprobung und Verbreitung von angepassten landwirtschaftlichen Produkten

- Steigerung der Selbstvermarktung

- Ausbildung und Beratung der Kooperativen, der Mikrofinanzinstitutionen und der dezentralen staatlichen Einrichtungen;

- Organisation von internen und externen Kontrollen


Die Nachhaltigkeit wird durch die erfolgreiche Etablierung der Kooperativen, aber auch über die Kooperation mit staatlichen und lokalen Einrichtungen erreicht. Der in diesem Programm erprobte Ansatz wurde bereits in anderen Teilen des Landes übernommen.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
