Overall goal


Das Programm umfasst ausgewählte Maßnahmen in den Bereichen Globales Lernen/ schulische und außerschulische Bildungsarbeit sowie Informations- und Medienarbeit zu entwicklungspolitischen Themen. Zentrale Anliegen sind die Förderung des entwicklungspolitischen Diskurses und Engagements in Österreich sowie zu besserem Verständnis und kritischer Reflexion von globalen Zusammenhängen beizutragen.

Zur (1) Stärkung Globalen Lernens in Österreich werden Aktivitäten qualitativ weiterentwickelt und fortgeführt: strategische/strukturelle Vernetzung und Qualitätsentwicklung in der österreichischen Bildungslandschaft, Betrieb entwicklungspolitischer Infotheken an 7 Standorten, Fort- und Weiterbildungsprogramme für LehrerInnen und Schulen, Ausstellungsprojekte zu entwicklungspolitischen Themen, Globales Lernen in der außerschulischen Jugendarbeit sowie die Durchführung von Hochschulwochen in Salzburg und Kärnten. Darüber hinaus werden bewährte Maßnahmen der (2) Informations- und Medienarbeit wie die Herausgabe des unabhängigen Südwind-Magazins (Auflage: 6.000 Stk./10x jährlich) und die Betreuung der NGO-Internetplattform OneWorld.at fortgeführt. Services/Angebote rund um EZA/Entwicklungspolitik für JournalistInnen bietet die Informations-Stelle Journalismus & Entwicklungspolitik (ISJE). Eine stärkere Verankerung entwicklungspolitischer Themen in der regionalen Berichterstattung wird mit begleitender Medienarbeit der Südwind-Regionalstellen angestrebt. Jährlich erscheinen österreichweit rund 1000 Artikel/Clippings in TV, Radio, Print- und Onlinemedien, die eine breite Öffentlichkeit über entwicklungspolitische Themen informieren. Zentrale Dienste ermöglichen den Grundbetrieb der Südwind Agentur. Durch die Integration der Regionalstellen Salzburg, Kärnten und NÖ (Wr. Neustadt) ist die Südwind Agentur ab 2015/16 in Österreich flächendeckend tätig.


Das Projekt wird aus OEZA-Mitteln in der Höhe von Euro 1.754.000,- (74,43% des Gesamtprojektvolumens) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
