Short Description:

Overall goal


Bosnia-Herzegovina is one of the most mine-contaminated countries in the world and the most mine contaminated country in South-Eastern Europe. The presence of anti-personal landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) ist still, and will be for many years, a major problem not only for the reconstruction of the country, but also for the economic development and the overall security.


The objective of the project is:

-> to demine the agricultural and resettlement area in Municipalty Doboj in Republika Srpska, and to

-> undertake operations of technical survey in Municipality Visoko and Municipality Domaljevac-Samac in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as in the region of Brcko District.


Mine clearance and technical survey activities are linked with agriculture, return and socio-economic development: The clearance of

-> 136.732 square meters of land and of

-> additional 216.364 square meters through technical survey

aim to create conditions for safe use of agricultural land and to reduce the mine threat for the population in local communities. At the same time, the project aims to establish safe conditions for the return process of displaced people.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
