Der Verein Welt der Kinder tritt für eine kindgerechte Gesellschaft und für den Schutz von Kindern gegen Gewalt und Deprivation in familiären, gesellschaftlichen, nationalen und internationalen Kontexten ein.


Das internationale Symposium "Kindheit und Gesellschaft II" von 23.-25.Oktober 2008 im Bregenzer Festspielhaus bildet den zweiten Teil eines Dreijahresprojekts, in dessen Rahmen insgesamt 3 Symposien vorgesehen sind. Oberziel ist das Ermöglichen von verbindlichen Partnerschaften zwischen den Regionen (Nord-Süd, Süd-Süd) auf Basis eines respektvollen Austauschs von Erfahrung und Wissen, interkulturellem Dialog und gemeinsamer Suche nach Lösungsansätzen.

Basierend auf der Auseinandersetzung mit Identität bietet das dreitägige Symposium Vorträge, Podiumsdiskussionen und Workshops/Ateliers.


Dabei bringen ReferentInnen aus den OEZA-Schwerpunktländern Mosambik (Victor Igreja) und Äthiopien (Ananas Girmai) und aus dem Iran (Yassaman Montazami) sowie aus dem Bereich der OEZA Süd- bzw. Ost-Perspektiven bzw. entwicklungspolitisch relevante Aspekte ein.

Es sind u.a. Beiträge zu den Themen Armut als Risikofaktor individueller und gesellschaftlicher Entwicklung, Wechselwirkungen von Armut und Selbstbild, Migration und Flucht, kulturelle Praxis, Armutsbekämpfung im Spannungsfeld zwischen Intervention und Empowerment, Konzepte der Armutsbekämpfung vorgesehen.


Ziel- bzw. Dialoggruppen sind TeilnehmerInnen aus Vorarlberg, Österreich und aus europäischem und internationalem Kontext, EntscheidungsträgerInnen, öffentliche Stellen sowie Kinder, Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene.

Das Symposium ist in weitere bewusstseinsbildende Maßnahmen eingebettet, wie z.B. das Kinderrechts-Filmfestival im November 2008 und das Projekt WELTStadt der Kinder in Bregenz. Kooperationspartner sind u.a. Caritas, SOS Kinderdorf, ifs und aks.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 97.818,00 in der Höhe von EUR 5.476,00 (5,60%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
