Overall goal


Im Mittelpunkt des Projektes steht die Weiterverwertung des Dokumentarfilmes ‚The Lion Escaped – vom Kampf gegen Aids in Südafrika‘, der im Rahmen der Fußball WM 2010 gedreht wurde. Ziel war und ist es, ein differenziertes Bild von Südafrika zu zeichnen. Nun soll der Film, der bisher vor allem in Europa gezeigt wurde, in Südafrika selbst jenen Personen zugänglich gemacht werden, die tagtäglich mit der Thematik zu tun haben, von der Krankheit Betroffene, zivilgesellschaftliche Akteure, politische Entscheidungsträger und die allgemeine Öffentlichkeit. Der Film wird in ausgewählten Kinos und auf öffentlichen Plätzen gezeigt werden. Die Aufführungen mit anschließender Diskussion sollen zur Vernetzung der verschiedenen Akteure beitragen. Der Verein Wombats, der bereits eine wichtige Rolle bei den Dreharbeiten spielte, wird die Koordination der Veranstaltungen und die Kooperation mit den NGOs übernehmen. Hauptzentrum des Projektgebiets ist das Township Khayelitsha in Kapstadt, weitere Aufführungsorte in Johannesburg, Durban und Marianhill sind vorgesehen.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
