Overall goal


Der "Punjab" ist eine seit 1947 durch die Gründung des Staates Pakistan zweigeteilte Region. Zwischen "Ostpunjab" (Indien) und "Westpunjab" (Pakistan) verläuft eine der gefährlichsten Grenzen der Welt. Die Region ist geprägt von Terror, Armut und religiösen Konflikten. Die anhaltenden religiösen, sozialen, politischen Probleme und Konflikte dieser Region sind bis heute ungelöst. Bittere Armut der Bevölkerung und ein katastrophale Situation im Bildungswesen sind unmittelbare Folgen davon.


Fokus und Ziel des Projektes THEATRE FOR PEACE an der "Springdale Senior School" in Amritsar ist es, innerhalb des nächsten Jahres eine aus sich selbst heraus und autonom funktionierende "Theater- Pantomimen- u. Circusschule" für 5000 SchülerInnen/Jugendliche aller sozialen Schichten und regionalen Religionen (Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, Christen) Pakistans und Indiens zu schaffen. "THEATRE FOR PEACE" soll dazu beitragen, das allgemeine Bewusstsein der Bevölkerung für "Frieden" zu stärken und als eine Plattform für Friedensarbeit, Armutsbekämpfung und interkulturellen Dialog zu fungieren.


Vor allem Jugendliche werden durch das Kunstschaffen für die Idee "Frieden" gewonnen, um in der Grenzregion zwischen Indien und Pakistan in Zukunft stabilere Voraussetzungen für ein bleibendes, soziales Miteinander zu schaffen und aus eigenem Bewusstsein heraus Armut zu bekämpfen. Die "Theaterschule" soll in der Folge von LehrerInnen der Schulen selbstständig weitergeführt werden und im Rahmen von künstlerischen Austauschprogrammen zwischen Schulen in Pakistan und Indien pädagogisch, friedensfördernd und zusammenführend agieren. Ein Höhepunkt stellt das jährlich stattfindende indisch- pakistanische Kulturfestival "SAANJH" dar.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries.
