Overall goal


Das Projekt trägt mit der Sensibilisierung der Zielgruppe, das sind ca. 10.300 EinwohnerInnen (davon ca. 5.400 Frauen), zum Thema HIV/AIDS und dessen Übertragungsarten maßgeblich zur Verbesserung der sexuellen und reproduktiven Gesundheit der senegalesischen Bevölkerung bei. Spezifisches Projektziel ist der Kampf gegen HIV/AIDS in der Landgemeinde Médina Chérif in der Region Kolda im Süden des Landes sowie die nachhaltige Senkung der Prävalenzrate.

Sensibilisierungsaktivitäten sowie die Förderung von HIV-Tests auf freiwilliger Basis, die soziale Mobilisierung, die Kapazitätenstärkung der MitarbeiterInnen der kommunalen Gesundheitsvorsorge und die finanziellen Unterstützungsleistungen für an HIV/AIDS erkrankte Menschen werden die HIV/AIDS-Prävalenzrate drastisch verringern. Eines der Schlüsselelemente des Projekterfolges bildet das Engagement der Basisorganisation ‚Union Générale des Comités Villageois de Développement‘ (UGCVD) bei der Kapazitätenstärkung der MitarbeiterInnen der kommunalen Gesundheitsvorsorge, der Hebammen und der KrankenpflegerInnen sowie der Koordination mit den staatlichen Gesundheitsbehörden.

Erwartete Resultate:

1. Die möglichen Präventionsmaßnahmen (Kondome, sterile Nadeln, HIV-PCT (Point-of-Care-Tests), etc.) gegen eine Ansteckung mit dem HI-Virus sind der Zielgruppe bekannt und werden von dieser auch tatsächlich umgesetzt bzw. freiwillig in Anspruch genommen.

2. Das Übertragungsrisiko, insbesondere die Mutter-Kind Variante, in der Landgemeinde Médina Chérif wurde nachhaltig gesenkt.

3. Eine psychosoziale und ernährungstherapeutische Unterstützung von HIV-infizierten bzw. an AIDS erkrankten Menschen wurde eingeführt und verstärkt.
