Short Description:

Overall goal


Gordoma liegt ungefähr 100 km nördlich von Addis Abeba, in dem Wuchale Jidd Distrikt in der Nord Shoa Zone von Oromia. Ungefähr 11.000 Menschen wohnen in diesem Gebiet. Die Bevölkerung besteht aus Bauern, die Felder bearbeiten und Tiere halten. Eine Bevölkerungszunahme in dieser Gegend hat zu einer Ausbeutung der landwirtschaftlich genützten Flächen des Landes geführt.

Die Ackerböden sind ausgelaugt, die Viehherden größer geworden. Außerdem leidet die Gegend unter langen Dürreperioden. Das bedeutet zusätzliche Ernteeinbußen. Wasser ist nicht vorhanden, selbst die Gemüseanbauflächen können nur schwer bewässert werden.


Ziele des Projekts:

# Zugang zu sauberem Trinkwasser für Gordoma auf einer dauerhaften Basis

# Reduzierung der durch Wasser übertragenen Krankheiten

# Verbesserung der Lebensqualität vor allem der Frauen und Kinder, weil sie keine langen Wege mehr zurücklegen müssen, um Wasser zu holen

Die Einwohner Gordomas tragen durch Arbeit und lokal erhältliches Material im Wert von bis zu 2.268,- Euro für 7 Brunnen bei. Die Partnerorganisation ist für Koordination, Durchführung und Aufsicht des Projekts zuständig. Gemeinsam mit dem Wasserkomitee übernimmt das Projektbüro Monitoring. Halbjährliche Wasserproben werden entnommen und auf Qualität überprüft.
